VPBank Hanoi Marathon 2022 Volunteers - Silent Companions

The Race Organizing Committee of the VPBank Hanoi Marathon 2022 has just completed training for a team of volunteers of up to 1,200 people, including 120 leaders.

The Volunteer team will actively support nearly 10,000 runners to compete on October 16, 2022 at the VPBank Hanoi Marathon, Vietnam's leading professional race, on the Full Marathon (42,195 km) route, which carries the unique beauty of street culture in the city with thousands of years of civilization.

A special point about the volunteer team this year is that there are nearly 200 people among them who are medical and pharmaceutical students, having medical knowledge. These young folks will coordinate well with the medical team from hospitals participating to serve in the marathon, contributing to supporting runners' safety at all times from the Start to the Finish line.

The whole team is divided into 3 main groups: 600 people on duty on the running track, 150 people at refreshment stations, 100 people will be in charge of medical aid along those in other groups, totaling 1,200 people.

This year's training program is conducted completely offline, including knowledge dissemination and on-site question-and-answer sections to ensure the team quality. Volunteers are grouped and exchange information internally.

With a race taking place on a large scale and at a high level of professionalism like the VPBank Marathon Hanoi 2022, the Race Organizing Committee (ROC) has arranged to send in advance all the related documents to volunteers, ensuring that each of them has grasped through the content.

In addition to the assigned tasks, the leaders constantly encourage and interact in small groups to strengthen cohesion and improve the spirit of solidarity among members.

The ROC would like to thank the volunteers who are quietly contributing efforts to complete the work for the top race, the VPBank Hanoi Marathon 2022, to send their best wishes to the runners and commit to focusing on ensuring the safety of the running track and the highest quality of the race's other aspects.

Held annually since 2018, the VPBank Hanoi Marathon has become Hanoi’s official race and won recognition to be a member of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) since 2019, with a running track standardized by AIMS experts and the Vietnam Athletics Federation. The VPBank Hanoi Marathon has joined the Age Group Ranking System of Abbott World Marathon Majors. VPBank Hanoi Marathon results can be used to qualify at any of the World Six Majors, including the prestigious Boston Marathon.
