Unique Points On Halong Bay Heritage Marathon Track

Launched in 2015, the Halong Bay Heritage Marathon returns after a year of missed events due to the pandemic with a unique version, a major change of Vietnam's oldest heritage race.

This November, runners will experience the super-broad coastal track going through a part of Ha Long Bay, connecting the two most modern cities of Quang Ninh province.

Welcoming a new day, runners will enjoy the typical taste of the sea when striding through the fish market, running past the docks with busy fishing boats, waving to the sincere locals whose life is attached to the sea, making a living on small boats.

In particular, this 8th race of the Halong Bay Heritage Marathon will bring to Full Marathon runners (on the 42.195-km distance) the first experience when the track includes 235 meters in Cam Pha tunnel running through a limestone mountain.

Runners crossing the dark tunnel will be extremely safe because one way of the tunnel is closed to traffic and reserved only for the race. There won't be any engine sound, just the sounds of footsteps on the road.

Along the Ha Long-Cam Pha coastal road, there are many unique tourist attractions such as Quang Hanh hot spring or Ao Hanh, a place associated with Vung Bau military port, which was the departure point of a number of ships in the legendary numberless fleet during the war against the Americans.

Lined up at many sections along the way is a magnificent limestone island complex standing tall between heaven and earth, interspersed with mangrove forests - a tropical marine park and one of the 10 typical ecosystems of Ha Long's sea.

In the midst of a green countryside, boats passing by, the Ha Long Bay Heritage Marathon 2022 will definitely bring runners wonderful experiences.

The Halong Bay Heritage Marathon 2022 has the ONLY track in Ha Long to be certified by the World Athletics and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races. The race is part of the official competition system of the Vietnam Sports Administration and the Vietnam Athletics Federation. The marathon has joined the Age Group Ranking System of Abbott World Marathon Majors, starting from 2022.
